Tu B’Shevat Seder

February 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

A platter of fruits and nuts to celebrate the Tu B'Shevat seder

Join Dr. Elbaze as she leads us in the beautiful and little-known ritual of the Tu B’Shevat seder.

What’s this about a seder with no plagues? No matzah? No gefilte fish?

It’s true! The New Year of the Trees evolved from an agricultural festival that marked the start of the growing season in Israel. Today, it’s a holiday that combines ancient traditions with modern environmental awareness. It’s still too cold in Canada to plant trees, but we’ll celebrate by eating symbolic Israeli fruits* and honouring the connection between people and the land.

We hope you’ll join us!

*Tree nuts may be present
