Jordan and Kate Spevakow laying a wreath for the OJC

Remembrance Day services again took place on November 11th. There were literally thousands of the public in attendance for this very moving service, accompanied by all the regalia of the Armed Forces, RCMP, firefighters, etc. This year’s benediction was appropriately inclusive, emphasizing that Canadians of all ethnic and religious backgrounds contributed and lost their lives defending Canadian ideals.

OJC has been represented at the event for decades. A great civic event.

Celebrating Havdalah service with our orchestra

We were delighted to have with us Rabbi Schachar Orenstein from Montreal as one of our Rabbi Candidate visits. The week-end was packed with activities, including a Friday night dinner and service geared to young families with children, an adult oriented Shabbat Shaharit Saturday morning service, a Saturday evening Havdalah service, and a Sunday morning adult education session. All events were well-attended and very much enjoyed. Keep up the spirit, OJC!
